An t-Alltan 2009 -
A Conference for Gaelic teachers from Stòrlann
An t-Alltan offered approx. 50 teachers the opportunity to meet together at Stirling Management Centre and have a look at new initiatives for teaching and learning.
This was achieved through a series of Sessions and Skills Workshops linked to resources which are newly released or are in production at Stòrlann Nàiseanta na Gàidhlig.
Programme Structure
Participants had the opportunity to choose a ‘stream’ as follows:
Language stream
The language stream was a 2-day language course and participants who chose this attended only the key speeches in addition to this.
Primary stream
It was recommended that all primary school participants attend a session on language acquisition and on cross-curricular experiences.
Secondary stream
Secondary teachers chose which sessions they attended since many of them teach more than one subject, or learners and native speakers.
